Actors work in teams. Each team is responsible for an individual hospital. The teams are large enough to ensure that despite actors' other work commitments reading sessions are never missed and patients never let down.

The hospitals are visited three times a week. They choose the times and days that they would like these visits to occur. A hospital session lasts two hours. InterAct Reading Service reads at the following London hospitals:

  • Barnet General Hospital
  • Charing Cross Hospital
  • Chelsea and Westminster Hospital
  • Clayponds Hospital
  • Finchley Memorial Hospital
  • King's College Hospital
  • Lewisham Hospital
  • National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery
  • Mile End Hospital
  • St Mary's Hospital
  • St Pancras Hospital
  • St Thomas' Hospital
  • The Royal Free Hospital
  • West Middlesex Hospital
We also read in 6 regional hospitals
  • Moseley Hall Hospital, Birmingham
  • Royal Sussex Hospital, Brighton
  • Wythenshawe Hospital, Greater Manchester
  • Royal Oldham Hospital, Oldham
  • Bucknall Rehabilitation Centre, Stoke-on-Trent
  • Princess Royal, Hayward's Heath
InterAct Reading Service also works in over 40 stroke clubs in London and the South East. The Stroke Club readings are 'performance based'. The reader performs a 'programme' and reads to the whole group.

These sessions are also interactive. Please contact the office for a list of stroke clubs we currently read in.

InterAct reads at one hospice, the Pembridge Palliative Care Centre. Here, the patients are read to on both the ward and in the day centre.
